About

El Balcó de Miravet is a rural guest lodging for two in the old upper village of Miravet, just below the Templar castle and looking out over the Ebro. It takes up a whole floor of the house, with its own entrance, a bedroom, a bathroom, a kitchen and dining room and a covered terrace with a balcony onto the landscape and access to the garden.

The house was designed to bring back the shape and volume of the three houses that stood on the plot before they were lost in the Battle of the Ebro in 1938. It is built to be energy efficient, with recycled materials and traditional reed, the mountain rock behind it keeping the temperature steady, solar panels and a wood stove. The garden has fig trees and a small natural pond.

The king-size bed has a painted headboard with two figures after Michelangelo, and there is no television. Breakfast is a self-service buffet in the kitchen, and there is air conditioning, heating and wifi. The house prefers adult guests, is suitable for naturism, takes no pets and is non-smoking throughout. It is run by the same hosts as the Palau de Miravet down in the lower village.
