About this Event
Maspalomas Pride by Freedom is the spring Pride of Gran Canaria, run by the Freedom Asociación LGBT and centred on the Yumbo Centrum in Playa del Inglés. The 2026 edition marked its 25th anniversary.
The week puts a parade of floats on the avenues of Playa del Inglés and fills the days around it with pool parties at the hotels, club nights and shows in the Yumbo plaza. Singers and drag performers headline the galas, and the association hands out its Freedom Awards during the week.
There is a cultural strand too. Freedom runs a literary prize for LGBTQ+ writing, and the programme carries book presentations, photography and illustration exhibitions and the reading of a Pride manifesto. The municipality, the Cabildo de Gran Canaria and the Canary Islands government back the event.
