Brutal is a fetish week in Maspalomas, reaching its fifth edition in 2027. It came out of the rubber scene and still leans that way, with rubber, neoprene and PVC alongside leather, puppy play and the rest of the gear crowd.
The week is built around club nights in the Yumbo Centre, a pool party, workshops, and the Mr Rubber Gran Canaria contest. The organisers list a set of LGBT and men-only hotels and apartment complexes in Playa del Inglés as partners, so most of the crowd stays within walking distance of each other and of the Yumbo.
February in the south of Gran Canaria is warm enough for the pool side of the programme to work, which is the whole reason the festival sits where it does in the calendar.
There is no central ticket shop and no printed programme. The parties are announced through the festival's Telegram channel and Instagram, which is where the schedule for each edition appears.
