Strong Construction is a men-only cruising bar in the Yumbo Centre in Playa del Inglés, strictly over 18. The name sets the theme: the logo is a yellow warning sign, and the rooms are done out in wire mesh and steel trussing under red and blue light.
There are three bars and a dance floor, and beyond them the cruising areas: a darkroom, cabins, slings, glory holes and large beds for groups. Lockers are free. You leave a cash deposit and get it back when you hand in the key the same night, and the bar itself warns that thieves work the crowd on busy nights.
It is at its fullest during the big weeks at the Yumbo: the Maspalomas carnival, the bear carnival, Pride in May, Winter Pride in November and the fetish week, when it calls itself the fetish institution of the centre. The crowd is a mix of locals and visitors.
