Boyberry Madrid

Cruising | Darkrooms | Shops in Madrid, Spain

About

Boyberry is one of Madrid's most prominent 100% gay cruising venues, combining a bar, darkroom complex and adult shop under one roof across more than 400 square metres of space. Located on Calle de Valverde, a short walk from the Gran Via metro station, it sits at the edge of the city's gay quarter and draws a mixed crowd of locals and visitors throughout the week.
The ground floor houses a full bar with a relaxed lounge area, while a dedicated chillout zone known as La Bóveda gives visitors a place to unwind between exploring the venue's play spaces. The cruising area is accessed via a separate ticketed entry and features a maze-like corridor, seven private cabins and glory holes. Heading downstairs, the basement level opens up into a larger cruising space with additional closed cabins, a play area and bathroom facilities. The atmosphere throughout is kept low-lit and atmospheric, with red-tinted lighting adding to the ambiance.
An on-site sex shop stocks a wide selection of toys, lubricants and accessories, making Boyberry a practical stop for anyone in need of supplies. The venue operates 365 days a year and hosts a regular programme of themed events, from dark nights and naked parties to special occasion celebrations. Staff are known for maintaining a welcoming and inclusive environment, and the venue explicitly welcomes trans men. The age profile of visitors tends towards the younger end of the gay scene, with a broadly international mix throughout the year.

Jan1st night. Nice place to hang out and good music from younger generations of artists. Drinks are bit more expensive but was reasonable. Arcade machine was free and I loved to be a nerd playing Castlevania while my friends playing in the darkroom. It’s just another play.

I wasn’t sure what to expect! I thought it was just a gay bar, for drinks but it turned out to be something much more different. There was such a variety of personalities, and overall, it was a great experience. I really enjoyed experiencing something different!!

Sunday, 7 December, from 17:30 5pm and Monday, 8 December, from 18:00 6pm. Both days were pretty busy with mix crowd.

Boyberry Madrid is quite different from its Barcelona counterpart. In Madrid, the entrance is free. You simply need to buy a drink for at least €5.5.
Additionally +1.5 € for keeping your coat.

In Barcelona there’s no bar at all, and the entrance fee is €7 for people under 30.

The layout creates the impression of a long queue of people waiting to participate in something. There is a circle of fully closed doors, and a line naturally forms around them, which isn’t ideal.

In contrast, Boyberry Barcelona has a whole labyrinth with many spaces and amenities where everyone participates at the same time. The flow there feels open, continuous, and dynamic.

Overall, Boyberry Madrid feels more like a place focused on private rooms, while Boyberry Barcelona offers a shared, interactive experience where everyone is involved at once.

The funny thing is wide windows from the bar side that attracts everyone’s attention from the street 😅.

Rude waiters. crowd was not giving. the vibes were wack too. All I got was sticky stares, weirdos tryna hmu and murmurs talking about “me being a Foreigner from Philippines” I know cause I can understand a bit of Spanish… overall it was pathetic and icky tbh. 2 stars cause of that one cute guy that made my night.

Do not come to this place unless you’re doing it during the day. Alex is an amazing bartender and will be checking on your need always, there’s another Bolivian guy during the weekends who is amazing. The Peruvian guy during the night is really bad. He’s barely checking who need anything even when is not that late and is quite rude. He also give non-accurate checks, he has charged me both lower and more expensive than what I’ve usually requested. He also gives different instructions on what you can do an not. I went out smoking once and demanded me to get another drink even tho he’s teammate saw me getting my stuff and leaving some at the wardrobe. I’ve always going to all three Boyberry in the world and the one I’ve had a bad experience at is this one due to this Peruvian guy. A shame being Latino how he treats Latinos the same way. After this experience I don’t know if I will be back at Madrid’s Boyberry, so far Berlin’s the only one I keep truthful so if there’s one you want to check skip Madrid’s and Barcelona’s and only go to Berlin’s. Una vergonya.
