Strong started in the early nineties and is Madrid's long-standing gay dance and cruising club, five minutes on foot from Chueca towards Callao. It reopened under new management after a break and kept the format that made its name.
The front half is a club: bar, DJ booth, stage and dance floor, with house, techno and indie dance across the week. The back half is a cruising area, a large darkroom plus playrooms, bunk beds, private rooms and a maze of connecting spaces.
Most nights are men only and the door enforces a dress code, generally fetish, leather, harness or sportswear depending on the party. Worth checking which night you are going to before you dress for it.
