LL Show Bar sits on Calle Pelayo, one street back from Plaza de Chueca, and has been putting on drag shows every night for close to three decades.
The stage is on the upper floor, where the performances happen. The lower level stays quieter and works as a room for drinking and talking. Madrid drag performers work the room in short sets and the crowd packs in tight around the stage.
Entry to the bar is free. The audience is mixed, mostly gay men with a large share of visitors, and the bar's own site runs in six languages, which tells you how much of its trade is tourist.
