Black & White has been open on Calle de la Libertad since 1984, which makes it the oldest gay bar still trading in Chueca. It came through the neighbourhood's shift from rough to fashionable without changing much about what it does.
Cabaret and drag are on every night. The bar has two floors and three counters. Upstairs is quieter and you can hold a conversation; downstairs is where the dancing happens once a show ends. The music is Spanish pop and chart material rather than anything harder.
The crowd skews older than the Calle Pelayo bars and is a good deal more local. It stays open very late.
