Gamá is the LGBT collective of the Canary Islands, with its office on Paseo de Tomás Morales in the centre of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. It formed in 1992 out of two earlier groups and registered its statutes in 1994.
Its service unit is free and confidential: psychological support, legal advice, social work, help with employment and training, sexual health, and an LGBTI sports programme. Appointments are made by phone, WhatsApp or email.
Gamá is a founding member of the Coordinadora Canaria LGTB, alongside Algarabía in Tenerife and Altihay in Fuerteventura, and of the Spanish federation FELGTBI+. It has campaigned against homophobia, biphobia and transphobia in the islands since the nineties.
