Velvet 79 is a queer cocktail lounge on Calle Veintinueve de Abril, in the Santa Catalina district of the capital. It opened in June 2026 and sums itself up in three words: soft, red, queer.
The room is small and worked over in red, built for music, pop culture and sitting around talking rather than for a dance floor. It is the newest queer address in Las Palmas and one of the few here that calls itself queer rather than gay.
There is no website and no Facebook page. Everything the bar announces goes on its Instagram.
