Oh La La is the club end of queer nightlife in Gijón, in a basement on Calle Santa Lucía in the El Carmen part of the centre. Gay and lesbian crowds turn up in roughly equal measure and the room fills late.
The music is current chart pop and dance played loud, with a cocktail bar down one side. Live acts are a fixed part of the programme rather than an occasional extra: drag performances, strippers, themed parties and one-off shows.
It is a weekend place rather than an every-night one, and it has marked a fourteenth anniversary, so it has been part of the city's nightlife for well over a decade.
