Casa Rural Palomar

Casa Rural Palomar is a men-only guesthouse in Fataga, a mountain village in the ravine inland from Maspalomas. It bills itself as a quiet gay retreat, and the three words it puts under that are no crowds, just calm, clothing optional.

The rooms are studios and apartments in a rural house rather than hotel rooms, and the setting is palms, cactus and terraced gardens instead of a pool deck.

The point of it is the distance. The Yumbo Centre and the dunes are a drive away down the barranco, which makes this the option for people who want the island rather than the resort strip, or who want somewhere to sleep it off.
