Espai Can Bachs is a guesthouse with a single double room in an old house in Canet de Mar, a coastal town in the Maresme north of Barcelona. The room is in the hosts' own home, and they say they like to share their hospitality with other LGBTQ+ people.
The house is a traditional coastal building, restored over several years with its old walls and structure kept. The room has its own bathroom and a desk. The bed sits in an alcove framed in old timber, under a beamed ceiling, on a patterned tile floor, with a few pieces of art hung from above.
Breakfast is made with local produce. The hosts suggest walks around the town, the naturist beaches on this stretch of coast and trips into Barcelona, and the rooms downstairs are used for small cultural events: book presentations, poetry readings, exhibitions and concerts.
