El Balcon de la Lola is a late-night gay dance club in Bilbao la Vieja, set under old railway arches. The industrial shell has been left much as it was, which is where the room gets its underground feel.
The music is electronic, house and dance, played by resident DJs and by visiting electronic collectives who take the space for their own nights. There is a cage on the floor. The club runs later than almost anything else in the city.
The crowd is young and mostly queer, and the club is explicit about being an LGBTIQ+ space. It is one of the anchors of the Bilbao la Vieja scene.
