Mercury is the dance club of Benidorm's old town gay village, on Carrer d'Alacant. It has a proper floor and a sound system to match, which is what separates it from the bars around it.
The music is dance and house. It opens late and fills up later, so it works as the last stop of a night rather than the first. The club calls itself the most iconic in town.
The crowd is gay men and their friends, heavily international in summer and Spanish out of season. Nobody is turned away for not being either.
