Bar 69 stands on Plaça de la Constitució, the square at the lower end of Benidorm's old town where the gay village starts. Its terrace takes up a corner of the square, which makes it one of the easier places to sit and watch everyone else arrive.
It calls itself a friendly bar in the old town, and that is about the register: a small room, a terrace doing most of the work, and no attempt at being a club. Hotel Queens is on the same square, so a fair share of the customers are staying a few metres away.
It opens earlier in the day than the bars further up the hill, which makes it the usual first stop.
