Chiringuito BeGay is Barcelona's only openly gay beach bar, set directly on La Mar Bella, the city's celebrated nudist beach in the Poblenou district. Part of the Grupo Random Victoria hospitality group, it has grown into an established landmark on the international LGBTQ+ scene and a summer fixture for both locals and visitors from around the world.
The bar and restaurant operates from the sand itself, with a covered terrace, a chill-out area and sun loungers available for hire. The food menu draws on Mediterranean and international influences, with light dishes, salads and baguettes alongside more substantial plates. At the bar, cocktails, beer, fresh juices and the house-favourite protein shakes keep things going through long beach days.
BeGay holds Biosphere certification for its commitment to sustainable practices and is a recognised partner of Queer Destinations Committed, underscoring its dedication to inclusive, welcoming spaces. The venue also carries the VISA BCN Turisme sustainability seal from Barcelona's sustainable gastronomy guide.
Throughout the summer season, BeGay serves as a key social hub during the Circuit Festival, when Mar Bella draws LGBTQ+ visitors from across Europe and beyond. Reservations are recommended for lunch during peak season.

Very cool beach café. Great atmosphere, good music, friendly staff, and tasty snacks. Beautiful view of the sea and the beach.
BeGay was an spectacular oasis and Yenny was so attentive and helpful! She definitely made our day brighter with her smile!
Loved this place. The staff was friendly. The food was great and the music they played was amazing. This is a must visit if you do not mind sitting near n clothed option beach and paying a bit more. But all-in all very worth it
The girl behind the bar was friendly and helpful. The waiter could do with a bit more experience. Food was great and location is nice.
OK…so we were there Thursday 6 June & the waiter was fabulous. Today….a different waiter was - how do you say this without being offensive - “better suited for a different position”.
ie HOPELESS….a lot of time on his phone rather than working.
We would have ordered food, but getting drinks was difficult enough.
Great location, & such a wasted opportunity given the poor service.
