Menuda Lagarta Barrio is the late half of a two-venue LGBTIQ+ operation in Alicante's old town, on Calle Virgen de Belen. This is the one with the dance floor.
The format is drag performances and DJs, with the music aimed squarely at people who want to sing along. The venue's own line for the dance floor is that it is not suited to cowards or weak knees, which gives a fair idea of the tone.
Its sister venue on Plaza San Cristobal, a few minutes away, opens earlier and has the terrace. The group takes a float to Alicante Pride.
