La Cupula Azul is one of the older gay venues in Alicante, running since the 1990s, on Avenida Oscar Espla towards the Benalua side of the centre.
Drag is the main draw. The venue puts on shows and cabaret sets in a room small enough that there is no real distance between the performers and the floor, with a cocktail bar alongside. The crowd is mixed gay and straight, and the music sits in pop and Spanish cabaret territory.
The Alacant-Benalua station is a short walk away, which makes it easy to reach from outside the old town.
