Canibal Pub sits on the Explanada de Espana, the palm-lined promenade running along Alicante's port. It has been part of the city's gay scene since 1998, when it opened at Plaza Nueva, and moved to the seafront in 2014.
The crowd is young and mixed and the music leans pop. Two terraces belong to the pub, a smaller one on the side street and a longer stretch of tables out on the promenade, which is where most people sit in warm weather.
The bar calls itself a reference point for Alicante's LGBTI community. Live music and performances run alongside the regular nights.
