Hamo is a discopub on Fjordgata in central Trondheim, in premises a previous bar left empty. The name is short for the Norwegian ha det moro, have fun, and the room is built around exactly that: pink walls, glitter and a large mirror ball over the floor.
The music runs to pop and disco, and drag bingo and drag DJ nights are on the programme through the season. The house calls itself a discopub rather than a nightclub, which is a fair description of the pace. People come here to talk and to dance in the same room.
The couple who opened it in 2026 did so because they wanted a queer bar in the city. Everyone is welcome, the stated house line is that discrimination is not tolerated, and pride flags hang outside.
