If you are looking for the absolute heart of LGBTQ+ history in Norway, the London Pub & Club is your essential destination. Established in 1970, this iconic venue on C. J. Hambros plass has been the cornerstone of Oslo’s queer community for over half a century. It is not just a bar; it is a national institution that has witnessed the evolution of LGBTQ+ rights in Scandinavia, maintaining a reputation for being the city’s most inclusive and welcoming "neighbourhood" spot.
The venue is split into two distinct areas, each offering a different energy. On the ground floor, the London Pub provides a classic, cosy atmosphere reminiscent of a traditional British pub. It is the perfect place for socialising over a pint, with a legendary jukebox and a popular karaoke night every Tuesday that draws a passionate crowd. Upstairs, the London Club transforms the vibe entirely. With modern lighting and a dedicated dance floor, it hosts some of Oslo’s best DJs playing a mix of pop, house, and dance anthems.
Regular drag shows, themed parties, and its central location make it a buzzing hub every night of the week. Despite its long history, the London Pub & Club remains vibrantly contemporary, serving as a safe haven where locals and travellers of all ages and identities come together. Whether you are starting your evening with a quiet drink or dancing until the early hours, this venue is the definitive pulse of queer Oslo.

Its a great place, bowling is so great we have so many good memories here. This place will be the most unforgetable thing in my time in Oslo. Easy 5 star thank you for existing.
Went here as one of our stops on public crawl of Oslo, had one beer... everyone was very friendly, we were offered meals great service.. had one beer and kept crawling.. beers were top Notch as in everywhere we seemed to go.. we went downstairs and it had a cave feel to the place.. but it seemed trendy..
The London Pub Oslo is a friendly bar/club with a warm LGBTQ community and talented DJs. We visited on Friday, November 1st, and the DJ that night was simply excellent! The place was packed, with both dance floors full of joyful and respectful people. The club stayed lively until it closed at 3:30 a.m., a testament to the quality of the night. I give it five stars because we had a wonderful, unforgettable evening. Trank you all!
I was excited to enjoy a night at this bar known for its great vibe and inclusive space. Unfortunately, the atmosphere got a bit dampened because a large group of people—mostly girls glued to their phones—took over the dance floor. It felt less like a fun gay bar and more like a backdrop for Instagram. I’m all for a mixed crowd, but it’d be great if the space could keep the focus on the community that it’s meant to serve. Overall, a good spot—just hoping for a little less phone-scrolling and a little more dancing next time, ladies.
I’ve been to London twice and honestly, it doesn’t feel LGBTQ+ at all. The DJs keep playing the same songs, switching up the beats, and somehow missing the whole vibe of the community.
It’s missing that spark that energy that makes a queer place truly come alive. And please… there are more divas than Lady Gaga! A little variety, some queer history, and real rhythm wouldn’t hurt. It could be an amazing spot, but right now, it just lacks soul.
