Baba Bar sits in the Stroget passage off Storgata. It began as a West Asian and North African snack bar with fresh hummus and drinks, drifted into being the room where Oslo's queer people of colour met, and declared itself an official queer venue in 2024, back when it was still on Hausmanns gate.
From the evening on it works as a club. The music is Arabic, Kurdish, Turkish and Latin rather than the pop most of the city's queer nightlife runs on. Resident nights bring in reggaeton, dabke, cumbia and Arab pop, and some of them are free to get into.
There is seating indoors and out in the passage. The bar also takes birthday and private bookings.
