Out! Oldambt is a three day queer festival in Winschoten, the main town of the Oldambt municipality in the east of Groningen. The idea it is built on is a shared table: people from across the region cook dishes from their own backgrounds and everyone eats together.
The weekend opens on the Friday, the Saturday is a festival in the town centre with music, art and stalls, and the Sunday is a cultural day at Cultuurhuis De Klinker. In the months before it the organisers tour the surrounding municipalities with smaller activities.
It is aimed at the whole region and not only at the queer community, so neighbours, families, young people and local businesses are as much the audience as anyone else. Volunteers are wanted both in the run-up and over the weekend.
