La Gougnotte is a feminist queer bar in Saint-Cyprien, on the far bank of the Garonne from the old centre, and the name is a French slang word for a lesbian that the bar has taken back on purpose. It describes itself as a kind, feminist, cultural and queer bar.
The drinks are organic, the crowd is lesbian and queer with everyone else welcome, and the programme runs to drag shows and community evenings rather than club nights. It is the counterweight to a Toulouse scene that is otherwise mostly men's bars.
