About this Event
Chambéry Pride gathers on the place de la Brigade de Savoie and walks through the streets of the town. The association LGBT+ Savoie has organised it every year since 2022, and the 2025 edition drew close to 2,200 people, which in a town of Chambéry's size makes it one of the larger gatherings of the Savoie year.
The walk is festive and it is also a protest. A minute of silence is held on the place du Palais de Justice for victims of anti-LGBT violence and for the people who pushed the rights forward. The demands are local as much as national: visibility for LGBT+ people in a mid-sized alpine town, and the recorded rise in anti-LGBT offences.
An association village, stage shows, drag performances and other programming follow the march. LGBT+ Savoie works the rest of the year too, with a queer culture festival, testimony evenings and board game afternoons, and acts as a local point of contact for anyone looking for a hearing or somewhere to talk. The city of Chambéry works with the association on the route, the logistics and the municipal police.
