About this Event
Pride by the Harbourside is the largest LGBTQ+ event in Cumbria and takes place on the working harbour in the middle of Whitehaven. A parade sets off through the town and comes back down to the quayside, where the main arena stage carries the music for the rest of the day.
In 2026 it closes the Whitehaven Weekender, a two day festival that joins the Pride with the town's Harbour Fest under one name. Saturday belongs to Harbour Fest and Sunday to the Pride, so the site, the stalls and the street food are already in place by the time the parade arrives.
Entry to the harbourside is free and a separate ticket covers the main arena stage. Community groups and local services take tables along the quay, and the line-up mixes touring pop acts with Cumbrian performers.
The organiser is a Cumbrian equality and diversity company that runs a community hub in the town for the rest of the year, so much of the programme comes from groups that are already working locally.
