About

The New Foresters is a gay bar in the Hockley area of Nottingham, in the city's Rainbow Quarter, on the site of a pub that has run continuously since 1891. It has operated as a gay venue since 1938, decades before decriminalisation in England, when patrons used a private back room at the back of the building. Nottingham Civic Society marked the building with a pink plaque in 2019 in recognition of that history.

Under its current landlord since 2022 the pub runs regular live entertainment, drag performances and cabaret, DJ sets, and a beer garden with a sheltered smoking area. It hosted Nottingham's first Trans Pride event in 2024 and continues to host the city's annual Pride celebrations.
