The Greenhouse is a sauna for gay and bisexual men on Church Street, just south of Newport city centre. It has been running for twenty years and calls itself the largest venue of its kind in Wales.
Inside there is a spa pool, a dry sauna, a steam room and a sun shower, along with private cabins, a lounge and a cafe bar. There is an internet suite as well. A sexual health clinic runs sessions on the premises.
The week is built around themed sessions rather than one fixed crowd. Naked Day and Dare 2 Bare are what the names suggest, Jocks 'n' Cocks is sportswear, Bears Night draws the bear crowd, and She-Dazzle and the Trans, Bi and Cross Dressing Bonanza are for the trans and cross-dressing community. The club describes its own atmosphere as one of the friendliest in the country.
It sits in a quiet part of the city with free parking outside and is a short drive from junction 26 of the M4, which puts it within reach of Cardiff and the rest of south east Wales.
