About this Event
Pride in the Port hosts UK Pride 2026, the first time the title has gone to a Welsh city. UK Pride is handed each year by the UK Pride Organisers Network to one member group, so this is Newport's Pride carrying a national event rather than a separate one bolted on.
The day is built around a parade through the city centre and stages in the streets, with stalls and a children's arts and crafts area alongside. Past editions have marched from Friar's Walk and put stages on High Street and Bridge Street. A wider festival of events runs around the main day.
The organisation was founded in 2022 and its Pride has been free every year. It also runs sober socials, a book group and film nights through the rest of the year.
