Queer Lit is an LGBTQ+ bookshop on Great Ancoats Street, entered through Social Refuge. It started online and opened the physical shop in October 2023. It describes itself as the largest LGBTQ+ bookshop in Europe and stocks several thousand titles.
The range covers fiction, non-fiction, graphic novels and children's books, and it is sorted by identity as well as by genre, so bi, ace and trans sections exist rather than everything sitting under one heading. Pre-orders for forthcoming releases are a large part of what the shop does, and it lists releases years ahead.
Social Refuge, the building it sits in, also has a coffee shop, co-working desks and an event space. Readings and Drag Queen Story Hour are held there.
