Basement is Manchester's only gay sauna, in the basement of an old Victorian mill on Tariff Street in Ancoats, a short walk from the Village. It has been running for over twenty years and is for gay and bisexual men only.
The facilities are a dry sauna, a steam room and two spas, along with private cabins and a large dark area for cruising. There is a licensed bar taking cash and card.
Entry is over-18s only and physical photo ID is required for new members: a passport, driving licence or national ID card, and not a photograph or photocopy of one. Membership is annual and compulsory. Lockers are a fixed size, so anything you bring has to fit in one.
