The Church is on Chorlton Street, a corner off Canal Street. It was called Churchills for years and older listings, and plenty of locals, still use that name.
It is independent and LGBTQ+ run, under the same ownership as Bar Pop on Canal Street. The programme is live entertainment: tribute acts, drag, karaoke and DJs, with sport shown at quieter times. Cocktails, wine and coffee are all served, so it works in the afternoon as well as late.
The bar fundraises for LGBTQ+ organisations through the year, including the Village Angels, George House Trust, the Albert Kennedy Trust and the LGBT Foundation.
