Duckie 7/11

Duckie ran at the Royal Vauxhall Tavern for a quarter of a century, shaped a generation of London queer performance, and stopped in 2021. It came back in 2026 in a church hall in Stoke Newington, north of the river, in a shorter and much earlier format called 7/11.

The format is the point. There is a free buffet at the start, a cheap bar, tea, and the same mix of DJs, live performance and deliberately unglamorous staging that made the original what it was. Finishing before midnight is a conscious decision, and it is exactly why a lot of people who had given up on club nights go to this one.

Tickets are sold on a sliding scale so people pay what they can, and a batch is held free for QTIBPOC guests. The hall is on Stoke Newington Road, a short bus ride from Dalston, and the room is nothing like a club, which is the whole idea.
