Eagle London opened in Vauxhall in 2004 and began as a leather and fetish bar. The horseshoe bar and the low light are still there, but the crowd has broadened and the door is no longer a dress-code door.
There is a private beer garden at the back and a pool table inside. The programme is built on resident nights rather than one-offs: Horse Meat Disco on Sundays, which pulls a younger and more mixed crowd than the rest of the week, the cabaret night Duckie, and a rotation of Saturday parties each with their own DJs, running from disco through to harder house.
It is a late venue rather than an early-evening one, and on most nights the dancefloor rather than the bar is the reason to be there.
