Rupert Street Bar is one of the longer-running gay bars in Soho, on the corner opposite the Yard's passage. It is glass-fronted along two sides, which makes it one of the lighter rooms on the scene and a rare one where you can see the street.
The day and the night are two different bars. Daytime and early evening are calm, closer to a cafe bar, and it is a common place to meet before going elsewhere. Later the DJs start, drag hosts take the floor at weekends, and the room gets loud.
The interior is smarter than most of its neighbours, with a horseshoe bar and blue banquettes. It is 18 and over.
