Dalston Superstore is on Kingsland High Street and works as a cafe and bar at street level with a club in the basement. It opened in 2009 and is one of the few queer venues in London that runs all day rather than only at night.
Upstairs does food, drag brunch and exhibitions, and doubles as a gallery. Downstairs is small, dark and loud, with a proper sound system, and the programming leans towards house, disco and nights run by East London collectives.
The venue also hosts community sessions, including free HIV and STI testing. The crowd is young and queer in the broad sense rather than gay-men-only, and heavily local.
