Woody's is the newest of the Merchant City gay bars, in the John Street room that traded as Speakeasy before it.
It is set up as a pub rather than a late night bar: all day food, weekend brunch, beers and drams alongside the cocktails, and live sport on the screens. The entertainment runs to musical bingo and pub quizzes rather than club nights, and it describes itself as a cosy LGBTQ+ pub.
The bar has tied itself closely to Glasgow's queer sports clubs, hosting and backing several of the city's teams, and that shows in who is in the room.
