Merchant Pride is a traditional pub on Candleriggs, a street east of the main Merchant City cluster and quieter for it. The room is a conventional bar rather than a themed one.
The programme is karaoke, cabaret and live vocalists, with DJs later in the evening, and booths can be booked for a group. Private functions are part of the trade.
The crowd is mixed and generally older than the Virginia Street bars, and it is the kind of place people go to hear each other talk before moving on.
