Katie's Bar is a basement room under the Italian Centre on John Street, a few doors from the rest of the Merchant City venues. It has been running since 2013.
Cocktails are the focus behind the bar, and the week leans on drag, karaoke and live entertainment, with a dancefloor that gets used. The bar calls its regulars part of the glitter soaked, cocktail fuelled chaos, which sets the tone accurately enough.
The crowd is mixed and the prices are gentler than much of the city centre. There is a loyalty card that earns points against future drinks.
