Delmonica's

Delmonica's has been on Virginia Street since 1991, in the middle of Glasgow's Merchant City gay quarter. It is a bar built around entertainment rather than around drinking quietly.

The programme is drag with resident and guest queens, karaoke, bingo, quiz nights and DJ sets, plus a drag brunch in the daytime. Booth seating fills the room and groups book it out. Food runs to hand finished pizzas alongside the cocktail list.

The crowd is mixed and largely local. The bar describes what it puts on as raucous and rip roaring fun, which is fair warning if you came for a conversation.
