Steamworks is the only gay sauna in Edinburgh, on Broughton Market and a short walk from the Broughton Street bars. It is men only and describes itself as a health club.
The wet side has a sauna, a steam room and a jacuzzi, with communal showers and a café. The play facilities take up a substantial part of the building: a large blacked-out darkroom, a video room with two screens, and an area with glory holes.
Entry includes a locker. Cabins cost extra and come with a lockable door, a double locker and a TV. There are reduced rates for students and under 30s, plus a loyalty card that gives a free visit after six paid ones.
The sauna is run by the same people as Planet.
