The Regent is a real ale pub on Montrose Terrace, east of the centre and away from the Pink Triangle. It calls itself an LGBT+ and straight-friendly pub, and it reads as a neighbourhood local rather than a scene bar.
The beer is the point here. There is a rotating range of guest ales, the pub holds Cask Marque accreditation, and it has made the CAMRA Good Beer Guide. The kitchen does comfort food with a decent vegetarian selection.
