Planet is on Baxter's Place, next door to CC Blooms and a minute from the top of Leith Street. The bar calls itself the longest running gay bar in Edinburgh.
It is a single room, small enough that it fills up quickly. Entry is free, drink prices sit at the low end for the city centre, and there are running weekly promotions.
Drag is the main reason to come. The bar books performers from outside Scotland alongside local acts, and there are DJ nights and karaoke as well.
