Bristol Bear Bar is on West Street in Old Market, the part of the city that has carried the gay scene for decades. It calls itself the first purpose built bear bar in the country, and the crowd is roughly what that suggests: bears, their admirers and whoever else walks in.
The bar describes itself as attitude free and says everyone is welcome. Weekend nights have a DJ playing party classics and taking requests, and local drag performers appear as guests. Entry is free.
It sits within a few minutes' walk of the Old Market Tavern and Old Castle Green, so the three work as one short crawl.
