The Bedford is a small pub on Western Street, a few doors from the Grosvenor and on the same stretch between Brighton and Hove. It is proudly and openly LGBTQ+ and says so plainly rather than leaving it to be inferred.
Cabaret runs regularly, with a Saturday show that has become the fixture of the week. There is musical bingo, karaoke, and themed party nights. The gin selection gets mentioned more often than anything else behind the bar.
The home-cooked Sunday roast is the other reason people make the walk out here. Tables for shows and for Sunday lunch are worth booking, because the room is small.
