The Yenton is a gay-owned bed and breakfast on Bournemouth's East Cliff, set in an acre of garden a short walk from the cliff top, the beach and the town centre. It describes itself in those words on its own site, which puts it in a small group: most of the accommodation that advertises to gay visitors here is friendly rather than owned by anyone on the scene.
Rooms range from traditional to contemporary and are all en suite. Breakfast uses local Dorset produce, some of the rooms take dogs, and there is a pool and free parking, which matters on the East Cliff. The summerhouse is licensed for civil ceremonies, and the gardens are used for wedding receptions and other parties.
It is about twenty minutes' walk from the Triangle, so it is a quiet base rather than a doorstep one, and the hosts will point you at the clubs, pubs, beaches and saunas themselves.
