The Fox is a Victorian corner pub one street back from Hurst Street. The building has been a pub since 1901 and a gay bar for more than twenty-five years, which makes it one of the longest-serving venues in the village.
It is the only place in the Gay Village that markets itself to queer women, and it calls itself the little gay bar with a big gay heart. In practice the crowd is mixed and the bar is known for making newcomers welcome. There is a pool room and a beer garden at the back.
Entertainment is karaoke, DJs and drag rather than a full cabaret stage. It is a pub first.
