Paperxclips is a trans-owned queer bookshop and community space on North Street, open since 2022. Everything on the shelves is either by a queer author or has queer content: fiction, young adult, children's books and picture books, graphic novels, poetry, queer theory, biography and art books.
There is a coffee counter doing tea, coffee and hot chocolate, with oat and soya milk at no extra charge. No food is served, but you can bring your own and sit in with it.
The shop doubles as an event room. Author talks and book launches happen there, along with a knitting group and comedy nights, and outside groups can hire the space. It is run independently, and part of the work is funded through a Patreon.
