The Reporter opened on Union Street in 2021 and takes its theme from Belfast's newspaper printing and publishing trade, with press memorabilia around the walls. It describes itself as an LGBTQ+ and dog-friendly bar, and dogs on a lead get treats and a water bowl.
The drinks list leans hard on Northern Irish and Irish producers, with craft beer from Irish breweries and local spirits alongside the usual. There is no kitchen, only pub snacks, so this is a drinking bar rather than somewhere to eat.
Something is on every night of the week: arts and crafts, a quiz, bingo, an open mic, live music and vinyl listening sessions. It is a small, intimate room, and the quietest of the three venues in this building.
